Alternative Energy Source
You would have by now realized that we are using lots of energy in our daily lives. We need to watch TV programs, swtich on lights at night and also many other electrical home appliances. Most of us use the conventional source of energy from burning fossil fuels like gas, coal and oil. But these sources of fuels are so limited and they pose threats to the environment like causing global warming. So it would be ideal to find an alternative source of energy that is a renewable energy source – one that can self-replenish like the sun and the wind.
An alternative energy source includes power come from the wind, sun, waves and tides. Fossil fuels are those that will not be replenished when they are burned, hence they are known as non-renewable sources. We are using up these fuels so quickly that we have to search for other alternative energy sources around us.
The most obvious option as an alternative energy source has to be solar power. This is due to most of our energy is produced by the sun. The sun can generate more than enough energy everyday than what we actually need. Despite that the sun is producing so much energy everyday; this alternative energy source is still relatively under utilised by people.
Presently, the most common solar technology used by most people is the solar collectors. These are black boxes that people installed at their rooftops to collect the sun’s ray that converts to energy for hot water systems. This can be use for heating the pools or hot water for your cooking and showering.
Incentives will be provided by the government to incentise people who want to help up with using an alternative energy source like solar collectors It is still considered as relatively more costly to set up a renewable energy source than the conventional types of energy that you purchase from the energy suppliers. Hopefully, everyone would start to consider an alternative energy source as this would make significant impact in protecting the environment and a much better place to live.
